Introduction to the 2019 GLL Global Leadership Course Competition

In 2019, the "GLL (Singapore) Global Leadership Connection Course Competition" (6th edition) focused on a formal research competition that brought together 400 young leaders to exchange opinions on their research projects and promote recommendations to industry experts. Teenagers will experience world-class education, participate in immersive activities, and learn cutting-edge and innovative courses. The participating students will stay at Yinghua Independent High School (Singapore's top international center exam program (IB) World School) and have a campus experience at the National University of Singapore. This competition was held at Nanyang University of Technology (NTU), which ranked first in Asia in the 2018 World University Rankings.

Li Wen Science Popularization and Innovation led three children to participate in this event (the first time in China), and through on-site experience, they gained a deeper understanding of GLL. GLL, also known as Global Leadership Link, has a rich meaning of the word "link". There are the following connections around the Singapore event organization center: 1. "Connect" children from ten ASEAN countries; 2. Activity courses that "connect" to open boundaries (nationality, language, personality, self limiting); 3. Social science topics related to "connecting" (focusing on global hot topics, vulnerable groups, and marginalized social issues) and scientific topics; 4. Connect multiple forms of competitions and arrange their rhythm; 5. Connect the highest quality resources and the best people for efficient and effective event organization. Through the efficient and effective "connection" of the above, focus on the inner world of children, and cultivate their global leadership literacy qualities (problem-solving ability, problem-solving ability, teamwork ability, language communication ability, and project presentation ability).

 Event Activities

The GLL research competition aims to cultivate the ability of teenagers to look at the present and analyze common global problems. Participants need to identify a topic, conduct relatively in-depth research, and express and communicate research projects in English.

The Gll competition cultivates young people's social awareness through immersive, community driven courses, and enhances their awareness and identification of the community and social issues. Its philosophy is that future leaders must recognize that society is not homogeneous, but composed of different groups, including the elderly, migrant workers, and people with special needs who are often overlooked. The intergenerational innovation activity carried out by children at the St. Luke's Caring Center: Interacting with the elderly, building friendships, and creating unforgettable moments.
