Science competition awards are the mainstream requirement for independent enrollment and application, with a large number of participants and recognized universities. This article will provide suggestions for candidates applying for science competition awards from the dimensions of award levels (national level, provincial level 1, provincial level 2, provincial level 3, etc.).
（一）National level awards
The national level award (i.e. the winner of the national final) belongs to the highest level award of the Five University Science and Technology Olympiad, and most of the winners have already signed a contract at the final of the event. The only national level award required in the registration requirements is Peking University. Although Tsinghua University has not clearly stated the award level, based on the actual situation in previous years, the admission conditions for Tsinghua and Peking University are basically similar.
As for candidates who receive awards at other levels, if their overall performance is excellent, they can also try to register, but they must choose a guaranteed school. At the same time, it is recommended that such candidates focus on Tsinghua University's Leadership Program and Peking University's Boya Program.
（二）Provincial level awards
Provincial level awards have a significant competitive advantage, and there are many schools to choose from. Based on the requirements of this year's university brochure and the specific situation of previous years, the following application suggestions are made:
（1）Excellent overall performance, recommended universities for application at the provincial level: East China University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and University of Science and Technology of China. These types of universities also have very high requirements for candidates' comprehensive scores. In addition, it is worth noting that the conditions for applying for awards at Fudan University have decreased this year, and it is estimated that the number of applicants will be higher, resulting in high competition pressure.
（2）The comprehensive performance is good, and the recommended universities for application at the provincial level are Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tongji University, Nankai University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
（3）Provincial-level universities with higher cost-effectiveness that can be recommended include Beijing University of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Xiamen University, Sichuan University, etc.
（三）Two Provincial Second Level Awards
The schools that recognize the second level awards of the two provinces (i.e., the science competition awards in two different subjects) include Xiamen University and Tianjin University, which belong to the "Top Nine" gradient schools and have a high cost-effectiveness.
（四）Provincial second level awards
（1）。Strongly recommended: Xi'an Jiaotong University, which is a highly cost-effective school with good independent enrollment and large admission discounts. The most important thing is that the admission score line for the college entrance examination is not high. If there is no specific inclination towards the region, it is recommended to focus on it.
（2）理工类重点推荐：华中科大、中南大学、重庆大学、电子科技大学、兰州大学等。
（3）财经类重点推荐：中央财经、西南财经。
（五）双省三等级奖项
认可双省三的高校有电子科技大学、兰州大学、南京理工大学、北京化工大学。
（六）省三奖项
要求省三等级奖项的学校相对而言，层次等级不是那么高，但其中也不乏许多专业强校。推荐关注：中国人民大学、北京师范大学、北京邮电大学、对外经济贸易大学等。当然，诸如中国人民大学、北京师范大学等属于热门学校，奖项要求低，势必竞争压力也很大。
（七）特别说明
武汉大学2018年自主招生简章中对竞赛奖项要求说明较为含糊，如果家长关注武汉大学，笔者建议可重点参考武大2017年简章条件做综合评估。

2018年高校自主招生简章中虽然对人文类竞赛奖项等级有说明，但对具体赛事中文科赛事却鲜有提及，往年的主流文科类赛事（如：新概念作文、创新作文等）受到冷落。

2018年共有13所自主招生高校在报名条件中对综合和单科成绩有要求，这对综合成绩优秀但没有奖项的考生来说，无疑是一项重大福利，建议有资格的考生尝试报名。
（1）重点推荐：中国人民大学、哈尔滨工业大学、对外经贸大学、四川大学等。
（2）性价比较高学校：兰州大学，中等偏下层次考生逆袭的不二法门。
（1）关于定位择校：定位择校原则：奖项等级较低，文化课成绩优异，建议择校以保为主；奖项等级高，文化课成绩较弱，建议择校冲和保结合报考。锁定3-5所高校后，同时须结合学校地域选择、专业选择等做综合评估，最终结合高校限报情况，确定最后学校情况。
院校的定位选择，是自主招生报考的难点也是关键点，建议2019届/2020届的家长和考生多多学习研究，提前准备！
（2）关于网上报名：2018年网上报名时间紧，任务重，建议家长和考生一定要仔细研究高校招生简章，全面了解报名系统中要求，务必按照高校要求来操作。
